Sunsweet Selects Darktrace
Darktrace, the leader in Enterprise Immune System technology, has today announced that Sunsweet has deployed its self-learning technology into the heart of its network to detect and take action against cyber-threats.
Founded in 1917, Sunsweet is the world’s largest manufacturer of dried fruit, controlling more than a third of the global prune market. In addition to operating the largest dried fruit plant in the world, it represents nearly 300 grower-members and processes nearly 70,000 tons of prunes per year.
As a globally-recognized agricultural cooperative, Sunsweet considers the security of its data to be a business priority, and works diligently to protect the highly sensitive financial, proprietary, and customer information stored within its network. The company deployed Darktrace’s unique self-learning technology to detect and take remedial action against even the most sophisticated cyber-threats in real time. The Enterprise Immune System uses AI algorithms that build a baseline of what is ‘normal’ for a network and identify anomalous patterns instantaneously.
A few weeks after it was deployed, the Enterprise Immune System alerted the security team to an anomaly within its network – malware had infected a company machine. The security team immediately took action, fixing the problem within an hour, when it previously would have taken weeks.
The Enterprise Immune System has revolutionized our security,” commented Terrell Johnson, Systems and Networks Manager, Sunsweet. “The amount of visibility we achieve from its machine learning approach is unmatched. We are now finding anomalies, in real-time, that would have taken us weeks, or even months, to find on our own.”
We are delighted that Sunsweet has selected Darktrace to protect its most critical assets,” commented Rob Sass, Managing Director, North America at Darktrace. “The sheer volume and sophistication of today’s cyber-attacks mean that no company is immune to infiltration. To stay ahead of attacks happening at lightning speeds, forward-thinking companies like Sunsweet are turning to machine learning technologies that can autonomously detect threats and take action against them automatically and in real time.”
Darktrace is the world’s leading machine learning company for cyber security. Created by mathematicians from the University of Cambridge, the Enterprise Immune System uses AI algorithms to automatically detect and take action against cyber-threats within all types of networks, including physical, cloud and virtualized networks, as well as IoT and industrial control systems. A self-configuring platform, Darktrace requires no prior set-up, identifying advanced threats including zero-days, insiders and stealthy, silent attackers in real time. Headquartered in San Francisco and Cambridge, UK, Darktrace has 23 offices worldwide.
