Statement regarding LockBit claims

Earlier this morning we became aware of tweets from LockBit, the cyber-criminal gang, claiming that they had compromised Darktrace’s internal security systems and had accessed our data. Our security teams have run a full review of our internal systems and can see no evidence of compromise. None of the LockBit social media posts link to any compromised Darktrace data. We will continue to monitor the situation extremely closely, but based on our current investigations we are confident that our systems remain secure and all customer data is fully protected.

Livingston County Deploys Darktrace for Threat Detection and Autonomous Response

Darktrace, the world’s leading AI company for cyber defense, has today announced that Livingston County, Michigan, has deployed Darktrace to protect its network and citizens’ information from sophisticated attacks, including insider threat, low and slow attacks, and ransomware.

Darktrace is the cornerstone of our cyber security strategy,” said Richard Malewicz, CIO, Livingston County. “The rules-based approach we had before Darktrace could only detect known threats. We needed something that could secure our network from insider threat and ‘unknown unknowns.’ Now Darktrace notifies us to threats as they emerge, while its autonomous response technology Antigena can stop attacks in real time—defending our network 24/7.”

Powered by AI and unsupervised machine learning, the Enterprise Immune System learns the ‘pattern of life’ for every user and device on an organization’s network. Armed with this advanced and evolving understanding of ‘normal’ network activity, the technology can detect threatening activity as it emerges. Darktrace’s AI technology can also go a step further to autonomously respond to emerging threats by taking precise and proportionate action to stop or slow threats in real time. This buys back valuable time for security teams, enabling them to remediate threats before they do damage and focus on more strategic initiatives.

As cyber-attackers become more sophisticated, we are increasingly detecting never-before-seen threats on organizations’ networks,” commented Rob Sass, Managing Director, North America, Darktrace. “Darktrace’s proven AI technology is able to detect the earliest signs of these emerging attacks and autonomously respond to stop threats in real time, defending organizations like Livingston County from the even the most advanced cyber-attacks.”
