Statement regarding LockBit claims

Earlier this morning we became aware of tweets from LockBit, the cyber-criminal gang, claiming that they had compromised Darktrace’s internal security systems and had accessed our data. Our security teams have run a full review of our internal systems and can see no evidence of compromise. None of the LockBit social media posts link to any compromised Darktrace data. We will continue to monitor the situation extremely closely, but based on our current investigations we are confident that our systems remain secure and all customer data is fully protected.

Darktrace, the leader in Enterprise Immune System technology, announces today that CEO Nicole Eagan will accompany British Prime Minister David Cameron on his official visit to Asia.

The visit comes as Darktrace continues its rapid international expansion, having opened its first office in Asia Pacific in Singapore in February 2015 and launched operations in Japan earlier this month. This follows a period of rapid growth in the region, where demand has been strong for the company’s ground-breaking technology.

Leveraging advanced machine learning and mathematics developed at the University of Cambridge, the Enterprise Immune System is a self-learning technology that automatically learns ‘normal’ and ‘abnormal’ behaviors within organizations of all sizes, and detects in-progress threats, without the use of rules or signatures.

“We are seeing excellent global demand for Darktrace's Enterprise Immune System technology, and have enjoyed strong growth in Asia Pacific in a very short time,” said Darktrace CEO Nicole Eagan. “We are delighted to represent Britain’s cyber security industry on Prime Minister David Cameron’s trade mission to Asia, and to help promote the UK’s leadership in this field.”

Prime Minister David Cameron said: “British companies like Darktrace are flying the flag and unlocking the economic potential of the fast growing economies of South East Asia for the East of England. I’m delighted that they have joined me on my first trade mission of this government and I hope that we can work together to create jobs and growth for the UK.”

Darktrace’s Asia Pacific expansion builds on momentum built in Europe and the United States since launch in 2013. Darktrace serves over 100 customers across a wide range of sectors, including critical infrastructure, transport and financial services. The company recently attracted $22.5 million in Series B funding from Summit Partners and has doubled its headcount over the past year to around 100 employees in 15 offices worldwide.
