Statement regarding LockBit claims

Earlier this morning we became aware of tweets from LockBit, the cyber-criminal gang, claiming that they had compromised Darktrace’s internal security systems and had accessed our data. Our security teams have run a full review of our internal systems and can see no evidence of compromise. None of the LockBit social media posts link to any compromised Darktrace data. We will continue to monitor the situation extremely closely, but based on our current investigations we are confident that our systems remain secure and all customer data is fully protected.

Darktrace, the leader in Enterprise Immune System technology, has announced its partnership with government-accredited incident response provider, Context Information Security, to enhance their security offering.

Context was launched in 1998 and works with many of the world’s high-profile blue chip companies, alongside government organisations, to help clients attain a deeper understanding of security vulnerabilities, threats or incidents. Organisations turn to Context to provide best-in-class services that others within the industry strive to follow.

Darktrace’s self-learning technology complements Context’s industry-leading incident response and investigation capability, by detecting otherwise unknown cyber threats within the network in real time. Both firms are at the forefront of developing next-generation security practises, in this new era of evolving, sophisticated threats.

Named ‘Best Security Company of the Year’ in the Info Security Products Guide 2016, Darktrace is the world’s fastest-growing cyber threat defence company. Its Enterprise Immune System offers a fundamentally innovative approach to cyber security, powered by advanced mathematics and machine learning developed by specialists from the University of Cambridge. By learning the ‘normal’ behaviour of every device, user and network, Darktrace detects and defends against sophisticated external and insider threats, without requiring prior knowledge or rules.

“Darktrace’s Enterprise Immune System is the leading solution for proactive cyber threat detection to date. No other security system can detect subtle threats inside the enterprise, and provide 100% network visibility,” said Nick Trim, Managing Director, EMEA at Darktrace. “We are delighted to be working with Context to boost the adoption of this ‘immune system’ technology, and provide advanced defence to companies, regardless of sector or size.”

“We are excited to partner with Darktrace to offer their innovative Enterprise Immune System to our partners and customers across the world,” said Stuart McKenzie, Head of Response at Context. “We believe machine learning has a critical place in the future of cyber defence as a whole, and Darktrace’s cutting-edge, self-learning technology alongside Context’s cyber security expertise, is a winning combination in leading the fight against the ever-evolving security threat.”
